Growing up in Germany, my parents were always the epitome of style. My dad was a true innovator and he founded the very successful advertising agencies Team BBDO and later, Scholz & Friends.
My glamorous mum owned an American Folk Art gallery. I was surrounded by fantastic design whether it was my dad’s impeccable taste around our home or my mum’s to-die-for wardrobe.
My three older siblings and I all ended up working in creative professions.
At the age of 13 I was 6 feet tall and size 16, and as you can imagine it wasn’t easy to find clothes that weren’t meant for an unstylish woman much older than me, especially so in the 1980’s. I made a decision there and then that I would make clothes that would make me feel and look great and started sewing ; from an early age I was determined to change the plus-size industry!
During my late teens I started working as a plus size model and continued to experience a complete lack of fashion forward sexy plus size clothing. I saw a huge opportunity in the market and decided to study fashion design at the world renowned Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London. Whilst studying I opened a small shop in Portobello market with a couple of my friends and started selling my own designs.
My big break came when American retail giant, Lane Bryant ordered from my first collection and went on to sell it in their top ten stores as a premium brand. The collaboration with Lane Bryant provided me with enough capital to move the design studio out of my living room and into my first office in Ladbroke Grove and the annascholz label was born.
I’ve always believed you shouldn’t hide behind clothes; you should feel proud of your body and accentuate your curves rather than cover them up. My designs are about femininity, glamour and confidence, I love luxurious fabrics and colour and have an affinity for retro prints and intricate embellishments. I believe in offering the luxury and originality of a designer brand to the plus size customer.
Being a plus size woman myself and having worked in the industry for over 20 years. I understand women’s bodies and I truly believe that style and happiness are not related to size.
I think it is amazing how the plus-size fashion industry has evolved in recent years and there are fantastic role models such as Ashley Graham changing the way curvier women see themselves.
I’ve been privileged enough to dress some amazing women from Adele and Ashley Graham to Aretha Franklin and Dawn French.
Over the years I have designed diffusion collections for Debenhams, Simply Be and currently I work with the German company ‘Sheego’. I have been stocked in some of the best stores around the world from Bloomingdales, Saks and Neiman Marcus to Harrods and Selfridges.
In 2016 after listening to our customers we made the decision to change our business and sell the annascholz collection exclusively on www.annascholz.com so that we can offer better priced designs, more frequently with 8 mini collections a year.

Winner of "Fashion Design of the Year 2016", Eygló started her own label in 2006 after graduating from the Iceland Academy of Arts. She is a part of 4 designers that co-owns the shop Kiosk on Ingólfsstræti 6 in Reykjavik which has received the award "Best shop to buy local fashion design" 7 years in a row.
Eygló continuously tries to rediscover the wheel in pattern cutting as well as in detailing has been working a lot with prints lately, either being inspired by dinosaurs, the surface of mars, or making icelandic camouflage, also likes to work with different textures in her garments.
She finds it challenging to work with unusual fabrics to create something new and special. You can usually find something humorous in her collections.

Sandro Barros Atelier - the sole intention of leaving the world even more beautiful and the raw material of beauty is, definitively, woman.
The high fashion universe brings with it certain theatricality, the choreography of the harmonizing fabrics and colors and the ateliers that create models for women that are leading characters in actual life. With this script, Sandro Barros and Renata Queiroz de Moraes established the foundations of a perfect partnership in the creative heart of São Paulo.
Born in Itapetininga, in the inland of São Paulo, Sandro Barros manifested, from childhood, the talent that would make him famous. First for the perfect drawings, replicas of an ideal world and of dreams that would later become sketches. Surrounded by the strong women of his family, they were the first muses that he thought in dressing up. Afterwards, the ideology of a young man interested early in his life in the fine arts, in history and in classical ballet became inspired in the great women of the movies and the high society that brought to life the wonderful clothes created by renowned stylists and fashion designers. An enthusiast of opera, his vocation immediately showed to be the creation of a wardrobe for women that will never go on unnoticed, divas of the reality that wander through scenarios in search of the fulfillment of their dreams.
At 17 years of age, he left the native city to study fashion design at Anhembi Morumbi University, in São Paulo.
He made his internship with Jorge Kauffman, became a fashion assistant and, later, fashion production assistant at Phytoervas Fashion, the head office of the fashion weeks in Brazil, where he climbed the steps towards his first profession, stylist. In this path, he worked for magazines such as Vogue Brasil, Elle and Revista da Folha, acted in the fashion weeks of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza and Salvador, and signed the style of fashion shows from Lino Villaventura, Samuel Cirnansk, Paul & Shark and Daslu, which was for 4 years his main client.
The great turnabout in his career occurred in 2002, when he accepted the invitation from Eliana Tranchesi to work at Daslu Couture together with Silvia Reali Campos da Silva. Instead of simply matching the clothes, he would start creating them. In the store habillé segment, he expanded above all the tailored dresses, accessories and jewelry lines. Immediately, the customers recognized Sandro’s high sensitiveness in translating each woman’s soul, valuing her beauty and feminineness. Classical, but having both feet in modernism, he in a certain way found a new language for the party dresses. It didn’t take long for him to be consecrated as one of the most highly respected and influent stylists in the high society of São Paulo, expanding his work to other cities all over Brazil; besides, of course, dressing the most emblematic brides in the country in the last decade.
In 2011, after nine years in the position of stylist at Daslu Couture, Sandro decided to open his own brand name together with a friend and customer Renata Queiroz de Moraes. Graduated in Business Administration from FAAP with an MBA from Getúlio Vargas Foundation, the lady from São Paulo started her career as director in the civil construction market, a world in principle far apart from the fashion universe. But the experts know that the creation of clothing does indeed go through the architecture of its modeling. During six years she worked at Mixed and two years at Juliana Scarpa, where she enhanced her eye for the market. Known for her natural elegance with which she chooses the pieces from her own closet, Renata is, before all else, an enthusiast of fashion.
The birth of her first son took her to a professional pause during which she thought over her career. Why not aligning the business administration background in favor of an enterprise in the world of fashion? A faithful customer of Sandro since 2007, when she ordered the first dress with his signature, Renata matured the future partnership, which would become true four years later. The tuning between the creator and the muse enchanted by his creations finally yielded fruits from her simple and definitive question: “After all, when will we open our shop?”
Thus appeared from the synergy of talents and competence the Sandro Barros Atelier, currently established in the most beautiful house at Henrique Martins Street, in São Paulo.
