Maryam Pousti, born 1983 in Tehran, is a graduate from the Architectural Association (AA), she received her Diploma in 2009 while her final year project was nominated for honors.
she worked for Zaha Hadid Architects in London after which she returned to the AA to complete her studies, after receiving RIBA part II she worked for BFLS and Foster & partners of London.
Established in 2013, STUDIO POUSTI focuses on Architecture , interiors , furniture design and material research. The studio and workshop is based in Tehran, Iran.
The work developed in the studio is inspired by the possibilities , limitations and experimentations investigated through studying materials, composing them and understanding their behaviors while mixing traditional craftsmanship and technology.
At the moment the studio is engaged in both small scale experimental work as well as medium scale architecture and interior projects. The aim and the interest of the work lies heavily on all aspects of design , each project offers its own possibilities regarding spatial, material and technological issues, what makes each project different is the way it corresponds to its unique brief.
