The traditional Japanese house, symbolizing a long culture of wood, is epitomized by refined fittings such as “fusuma”(sliding doors)”shoji”(papered lattice screens)and “ranma”(decorative transoms.) These are exemplary works made by specialized craftsmen, separate from carpenters.
Kumiko is the refined lattice-work derived from making such fittings. It was born of finely planed wood, inter-locked in intricate patterns. This high degree of intricacy is unique to Japanese construction. The making of kumiko is very precise work and requires great perseverance.
K-INO INOMATA ART started working on Kumiko about half a century ago. Kumiko to answer clients’ demands, are highly appreciated.

In the Beginning
The story of Rocky Mountain Hardware unfolded over three decades ago in a successful showroom owned by Mark and Patsy Nickum. Working closely with architects, designers and builders in Sun Valley, Idaho, they furnished high-end doors, windows and door hardware for upscale, custom-built homes.
Our hardware is expertly crafted in America using only the finest art-grade bronze and precision-quality mechanisms that stand up to the test of time. In fact, all products are backed by a lifetime guarantee. Each piece is individually cast for one-of-a-kind character, and then given a hand-applied patina that grows richer and more lustrous in response to the environment.
Today, Rocky Mountain Hardware continues its family tradition with their son Christian at the helm since 2003. Their unwavering commitment to high-quality, custom bronze pieces is unparalleled. The creation of that next sculptural work of art is already in the works. As for the future? They can't wait for the next request.
