Inspired by a passion of adventure, exploring off the beaten path and travelling into the unknown, we at Fernweh strive to create high quality, handmade products that bring a little bit of adventure into everyday life.
Fernweh UK is the brainchild of Scottish fashion designer Laura Sherriffs. A 2013 graduate of Grays School of Art, Laura set up Fernweh UK in July 2014 in her hometown of Aberdeen. As a self confessed rock climbing obsessive, Laura realised that it was difficult to find accessories for climbing that matched her personal style, so made her own chalk bag. Thus the first Fernweh product was born. Fernweh was conceived from an urge to create high quality, artisan products for the adventurers and explorers in our midst.
Fernweh has evolved from being a brand creating hand made rock climbing chalk bags, to a brand that has been sold internationally, focused on bringing a little adventure into even the more mundane areas of everyday life. We have a fantastic support and loyal group of fans and we are committed to keep building this amazing Fernweh global community, as that thirst for adventure and the great outdoors knows no boundaries.
We are inspired by the world around us, particularly the beautiful scenery we have here in Scotland. We are lucky to have the Cairngorms and Highlands right on our doorstep, the Scottish wilderness is a vial of creativity and inspiration and we hope that our products inspire our customers to head out and explore the great outdoors. We all have a responsibility to look after this fantastic land, and we at Fernweh try our best to be as conscious and ethical as possible in our collections and believe that the best way to do this is to create products that are made to last. We feel that sustainability through longevity, using organic fabrics/dyes and trying our hardest to create as minimal wastage as possible, not only create a much more ethical product, but create pieces that last, that will become cherished, timeless pieces in our customer's lives.
Every single Fernweh piece is handcrafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, in house in the Fernweh studio in Aberdeen. We pride ourselves on using traditional artisanal methods such as knit, embroidery and leatherworking to create our products by hand, and are proud ambassadors of the 'slow fashion' movement. We are immensely proud to be handmade in Scotland, and we look forward to continuing to evolve our little brand and continue the Fernweh story in the future.

New Orleans Week <> Southern Design Week - fashion shows that are designer focused, and provide market opportunities.
Who says Fashion Week has to only be in New York? Fashion and design in the South is a rapidly growing industry, and some of the most up-and-coming talents in the region present their work every spring and fall at the biannual Southern Design Week in New Orleans.
Previously known as “Nola Fashion Week,” Southern Design Week is hosted biannually by the Southern Coalition of Fashion & Designto provide Southern based apparel designers with the opportunity to show off their work.
With its new branding, Southern Design Week continues to blow viewers away with both local talent and big names in the fashion industry. Past talent has included Project Runway alumni Matthew Arthur, Anne Cassidy of New Orleans lifestyle brand C.Major, and New York based designer Lela Orr.
Throughout the weeks several events are held at various hand picked locations around the city to showcase Southern designers, as well as the history and charm of New Orleans. Special events usually include runway shows, presentations, cocktail parties and more!
Founded by Andi Eaton, the Southern Coalition of Fashion & Design is an organization supporting the apparel design community in the South. The mission of Southern Design Week is to create fashion shows that are designer focused, and provide market and educational opportunities all year long. The designer Michael Sontag sees his work as an entity. Therefore he prefers not to define his fashion as a collection, but rather as his general “work”. Sontag sees his production process as fluent.
The transitions from season to season build upon each other. His presentations are snap-shots without a static character, instead of being reckoned as an attempt respectively an offer. With this approach the designer wants to blur the common fashion borders and create a generality detached from fashion parameters such as seasons, trends and consumer ages.
This approach is evident in the clarity of his designs. Designs which have never been drawn came to life on mannequins through Sontag’s drapery work.

<>GERMANY WEEK<> Vladimir Karaleev SS18 COLLECTION - a conceptual understanding of clothing as a medium.
Vladimir Karaleev’s work is characterized by intense study of the human body and its connections with clothing through experimental incision and innovative shape. A striking feature of both his women's and men's collections is the subtle yet decisive play with contrast of material. Influenced by contemporary art and architecture, Karaleev’s collections reflect a conceptual understanding of clothing as a medium as well as its functional purpose.
The individual forms of expression are propagated through fashion unobtrusively, without disregarding the balance between material, shape and detail. The garments underline the individuality of a person but he / she remains the focal point.
Vladimir Karaleev, born in 1981 in Sofia, Bulgaria, studied fashion design at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in Berlin, Germany. Following his studies, he founded his eponymous label in 2010 and was included within a short time in the official schedule of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin. In 2014 and 2017 he was nominated for the International Woolmark Prize. Vladimir Karaleev's collections are represented in numerous concept stores in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East.

The Maya Collection is a cooperative made up of refugees in Louisville, Kentucky, who utilize their native skills creating unique jewelry, handmade crafts and soaps, and various textile products. The purpose that drives these Artisans is to help themselves become financially independent.
Refugees that are relocated to America struggle due to a lack of formal education and job experience as well as the challenge of learning English. A refugee is defined as someone who flees their homeland because of danger of persecution based on race, religion or nationality.
The Artisans meet weekly a the Southside Ministry Center located at 5007 Southside Drive, Louisville, KY, 40214. Each week, volunteers work alongside with the refugee artisans to help them design products to sell locally and through this website.
We are hopeful that through this website you will get to know our talented artisans and see their amazing crafts. If you would like to volunteer or donate supplies or financial resources, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. It is important to note that we are NOT a 501(c)3 organization because our Artisans make 100% of the profits from the sale of their items. Maya Collection is a business so that our Artisan refugees can earn money to support their families.

At Point of the Bluff Vineyards we believe that wine making begins in the vineyard, and requires the finest grapes sourced from the very best growers of their regions. Whether growing Riesling or Pinot Noir in New York at our own Keuka Lake vineyards, or grapes grown in other regions around the world, our winemaker works with vineyard managers to ensure that the grapes are grown, tended and harvested to the highest standards.
We believe that fine wine making is like gourmet cooking: There are more creative opportunities allowing for spectacular results when you start with the finest seasonal ingredients from anywhere, treat them with respect, celebrate the purity of what they possess, and allow the winemaker to express his vision of what they can become.

Our/Vodka is different. It’s a global vodka made by local partners in cities around the world.
We partner up with people who love their city and who support their neighborhood. The partner adds their city’s personality, expression and character to the brand. The micro-distilleries are purpose-built to deliver a high quality vodka and small enough to fit in the urban environments of our cities. The distilleries also work as tasting room, event space and retail facility where you can buy our vodka. The small bottle with a crown cap is all about keeping things simple – it’s vodka.
Our/Vodka was started, by six entrepreneurs in Stockholm/Sweden 2011. Åsa got an idea of creating a global brand with local roots. Kalle, Mattias, Ted, Ola and Mårten, who worked at the Swedish agency Great Works, also got excited and we all started working on creating the idea that soon became; Our/Vodka.
It was treated as a black ops project under the umbrella of Pernod Ricard. We worked on it off-hours and from our homes for 2 years before it was approved to be piloted in Berlin. During these two years our “McGyver” star Vincent from the Pernod Ricard research center in Paris had joined the team and he invented the distillery we needed.
Super excited about finally realizing our dream, we went to Berlin and started looking for a location and for suitable adoptive parents to our first-born baby, Our/Berlin. 12 months later we had built our first distillery and Pauline and Jon had become our first partners.
Three years after we first started, and 33 Berlin-trips later, we finally opened our first micro-distillery. What a great reward seeing Jon and Pauline taking over the keys to the distillery!
Since then we have worked on the city list, the team has grown and we are rolling out Our/Vodka globally. Best job ever!
