A.W.A.K.E. was founded in 2012 by Natalia Alaverdian. Natalia's unique eye for fashion has developed through a multi-disciplinary career encompassing styling, art direction and photography.
Natalia's goal with A.W.A.K.E., an acronym for All Wonderful Adventures Kindle Enthusiasm, is to propose a personal and distinct voice through clothing that balance conceptual, storytelling aspirations with commercial viability. Keynote designs are Natalia's take on classic shirting, tailored coats, and dresses, each with an idiosyncratic quality underlined by a succession of very specific inspirational references of animals and characters from history, art and film. The major reference point and inspiration for all of the collections so far have been deviated from the Japanese art and culture.

About the designer
He studied Business Administration and, later, he started working for the prestigious Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna in Lima, awakening his passion for fashion. After the experience acquired in the field, he began his fashion design studies at the renowned Mod'Art Institute, which he graduated with great success. In 2015, his brand took a new direction by focusing her style on tailoring and incorporating a new female line; During that year, he participated in catwalks such as BMW Fashion Show in Lima and Men's Fashion Week in Santo Domingo. ESCUDO combines their passion for design with Peru’s vast cultural wealth.
Their soulful, one of a kind pieces are inspired by ancestral traditions, as well as a commitment to the development of artisanal techniques, a deep admiration of folk art, and the responsibility that comes with the utmost attention to detail.
Syncretism and cultural fusion work to forge the old with the new: fibres, knits, embroideries, seams, elements and colours that dance and converse, that bring us closer to the essence of our past and project us into the future.
PERU: THE LAND OF EVERYTHING
ESCUDO’s studio is located in the bohemian neighbourhood of Barranco, overlooking the Lima coast. It is here where they design and complete all their hand-made garments with the support of local knitters who assist and enlighten them with their extensive artisanal skills and knowledge. The Alpaca wool and cotton used are carefully woven using a hand-loom to make only the finest textiles.
ESCUDO brings together Peru’s master craftsmen and women, and it’s famous fibres.
In doing so, each piece of clothing has a storyline that can be traced back to the knitter who hand – wove it, the alpaca that gave up it’s coat, or even centuries back – to when these knitting traditions were born. Within each garment lies a story…and once worn, you become a part of it.

The designer Michael Sontag sees his work as an entity. Therefore he prefers not to define his fashion as a collection, but rather as his general “work”. Sontag sees his production process as fluent.
The transitions from season to season build upon each other. His presentations are snap-shots without a static character, instead of being reckoned as an attempt respectively an offer. With this approach the designer wants to blur the common fashion borders and create a generality detached from fashion parameters such as seasons, trends and consumer ages.
This approach is evident in the clarity of his designs. Designs which have never been drawn came to life on mannequins through Sontag’s drapery work.

<>GERMANY WEEK<> Vladimir Karaleev SS18 COLLECTION - a conceptual understanding of clothing as a medium.
Vladimir Karaleev’s work is characterized by intense study of the human body and its connections with clothing through experimental incision and innovative shape. A striking feature of both his women's and men's collections is the subtle yet decisive play with contrast of material. Influenced by contemporary art and architecture, Karaleev’s collections reflect a conceptual understanding of clothing as a medium as well as its functional purpose.
The individual forms of expression are propagated through fashion unobtrusively, without disregarding the balance between material, shape and detail. The garments underline the individuality of a person but he / she remains the focal point.
Vladimir Karaleev, born in 1981 in Sofia, Bulgaria, studied fashion design at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in Berlin, Germany. Following his studies, he founded his eponymous label in 2010 and was included within a short time in the official schedule of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin. In 2014 and 2017 he was nominated for the International Woolmark Prize. Vladimir Karaleev's collections are represented in numerous concept stores in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East.

"For this season I am working with ASPPUK and TFCA, two organizations in Indonesia that work with Indonesian weavers in the small Indonesian village of Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan. We work together to assist the weavers in using natural dye from natural resources to make eco-friendly fashion products.
We also work closely with Gallery of Indonesia, who supports us in promoting Indonesian traditional fabric with a mission to preserve Indonesian traditions and help increase the economy of the weavers who live in small villages.
My collections use Indonesian traditional ikat fabric: Tenun Dayak from Kalimantan, Songket from Sumatra, and Noken from Papua. Women weavers in small villages make all the fabrics. I dedicate my collection to them—it is a celebration of their hard work and passion."

The very heart of our business was formed upon our values of supporting non-profit missions of setting women and children free from anything that enslaves them; including human trafficking, abuse and violence. In the creation of all of our products, all of our labor is fair trade, made in the USA, right here in NYC, supporting single mothers, abused and trafficked victims and true industry artisans that handcraft our products locally.
Our materials are as sustainable and local whenever possible. We use the finest Italian leathers, all of which are semi-vegetable dyed by hand. They are very special, aged and distressed skins which are the highest quality available. We do our best to keep our collections as pure to the vision of sourcing local, and doing business with other ethical businesses that will support and employ women who have come out of life threatening circumstances.

Puerto Rico Diseña features independent designers, makers, collectives and local brands that make up the island’s thriving creative community. Founded in 2013, our mission is to inspire people through design to choose local products and foster creative entrepreneurship.
We are inspired by people who do what they love and discovering new designers and products. We think small batch production and sustainability matter when it comes to design. We are driven by a big belief that this tiny island has some pretty outstanding people creating and innovating everyday and we want to share that with the world.
We started Puerto Rico Diseña for one simple reason, to make it easy for people to discover design and quality craftsmanship. Founded by Michelle Perez Kenderish, the idea for the site was inspired in 2013 through a collaboration with Marilu Purcell, Andrea Bauza, Melissa Ramos Borges and Auralis Herrero Lugo during FAD (Feria de Arte y Diseño) an art and design fair in San Juan, in an effort to document and share the work of some pretty outstanding local makers, designers and artists.
WHAT WE DO

Marmol Radziner Jewelry is a natural extension of the architecture firm Marmol Radziner, which integrates a range of design services, including landscape, interior, exterior, furniture, prefab, housewares and jewelry design. The same master craftsmen who work on full-scale building details and furniture in the Marmol Radziner metal shop, handcraft rings, bracelets, earrings and pendants from bronze. All of our jewelry pieces are proportioned for both men and women and are available in light, natural, distressed, dark and a unique "torched" finish.
Marmol Radziner Jewelry began when Design Principal Ron Radziner, FAIA, couldn't find any men's jewelry that was minimal, yet solid and strong. Remembering a piece of metal he once found on the beach and wore as a bracelet, Ron designed a cuff. He asked the metal shop craftsmen to fabricate it with the same dark patina as the hardware in the Vienna Way Residence. Soon after, Ron's wife Robin Cottle, and a few architects jumped in to design pieces they wanted, eventually creating a collection.
